I can't say there is a specific form of communication that respond
to the most. Out of the many situations in which learning has been involved. I
have utilized one ore more of these methods. I am also not necessarily drawn to
the use of any one out of the three. I am always ready to focus an any specific
method of teaching an educator would be accustomed to using. I feel their are
several tools that are necessary for visual communication. However, your method
of communication should depend on what you are actually trying to communicate.
The type of communication you use can vary from an audio based form of
communication like radio, to a visual based form of communication such as a
poster or flyer. An image can also greatly affect the outcome of your communication.
Certain images can hold greater value to certain demographics; this can either
help or hinder your form of communication. I feel as though symbols are tied to
images and should be treated in the same regard. A color may also assist in the
visual aspect of communication. A color may represent a certain aspect of person’s
life that they would take great pride in. This could be anything from a
nationality to a sports team or something as simple as a favorite color. Any
one of these may cause a person to relate positively to a form of visual
communication. There are several companies in my opinion that represent strong
visual communication. One that stands out the most to me is the well-known
company Netflix. Netflix is a company that prospered in the dying industry of
movie rentals. When companies such as Blockbuster went under Netflix seized the
opportunity to thrive. Their logo is simple yet powerful. It is easy to
recognize and simple to remember. Most people in modern day society can quickly
recognize the bright red "N" that so often appears on a users browser
tab and fills the gaps of boredom as we procrastinate our homework over the
weekend. This bright red is a beacon that gives you the energy to finish just
one more episode (or season) and may consume every minute of many a person’s
free time. Another extremely familiar logo is that of every ones favorite
search engine Google. While the logo on Google’s homepage may change due to
special events, holidays or birthdays. Those of the current generation will
always recognize the standard red, blue, yellow and green that come with every
project, test or homework. The vivid colors alleviate the stress that comes
with late night cramming sessions or the desperate quest for answers to a take
home test. Another familiar logo is the friendly snap chat ghost. This little
yellow ghost will always be a reminder of the exciting and thrilling adventures
that our friends document. This ghost is light that we immediately jump too
when we see something that we find outrageous and extraordinary. These logos
are modern emblems of visual communication.
